It's the twist of the game and it's Zelda.
A while back nintendo talked with the fanbase on if they wanted to play as zelda. There was a lot of "YES PLEASE!" but sadly there was also a lot of "NOOOO PLEASE NO." This could be their way of slipping a playable zelda under those who had fought so hard against it. Makeing her more masculine and ease those into her role.
First thing we see is the character hiding themselves with a cloak. Usually in animation and character design this represents them trying to hide an identity. Another thing with the clothing is the split tunic. This is usually done on female characters to show off more of their leg. Since we can see more of their leg, you can now see that it's a bit thicker and rounder in shape. Finally we come to the color of the tunic, which is blue. If you know your zelda lore, you know that Link is green for courage and Zelda is blue for wisdom. I don't think it's a water tunic since they've stopped with that mechanic.
After they toss their cloak, you can see the tunic pulling into their side right where the smallest part of a woman's body is. giving them and hourglass shape. The way that the back is positioned also hints at this figure. Last we see that the character is wearing a ponytail. While many male characters in games and anime are usually shown with long hair, the Zelda universe is not usually known for that with he exception of one or two characters. Having this character let down their hair to reveal that they are female is a common trope. It would probably be the only way that they could respectfully show that this character was female all along.
They have a very feminine profile. We see another shot of the ponytail and see more of the hourglass shape and a thin neck.
Here comes the tricky part. The eyebrows, nose and chin are all very masculine however from this angle, the chin is more of a rounded shape. The character also looks like a young teen boy because of the small neck and round face, those features could also be feminine. The right eye has a rounder shape and one thick eyelash to the side. The highlight in the center of the pupil gives the character softer, jewel like eyes. Last we come to the mysterious light on the chest. Boys chests are higher and not as defined. This one's tricky because the character might have large pectoral muscles or is a woman with a bound or small chest. We can't see the other side because the belt is obscuring it. However there is a slight bump. This screen is a real stretch though.
If the character were to let down their hair, this is what it would look like. This though is still very masculine looking. Androgyny abounds. I've seen many male anime and game characters that look like this. On the other hand I've seen many anime and characters that were female and looked like this.
Now for the conflicts with my theory.
The character's body is compleately flat in the front. Even if it were a bound female, it would at least look like they had large pectoral muscles.
Finally we come to this angle that shows the character with a very square jaw and hook shaped nose. I don't think that any character designer, especially in Japan would dare give a female character such masculine traits.
My theory still stands though. This character is either a female character such as Zelda or a young boy around the age of 13 or 14. Perhaps a son? Either way, this character will have an amazing reveal.
